Ballet

Seaside Arts Center’s Ballet program is designed to ground students in the technique, discipline, artistry, and history of Classical Ballet, while following a curriculum that safely and effectively teaches children to progress through the rigors of the art.

First Steps Ballet & Tap (EC 1)

Lyrical Dance

Lyrical Dance blends ballet and jazz technique to help students express emotion through fluid, storytelling movement. In this supportive, creativity-centered class, dancers build strength, flexibility, and musicality while learning to connect movement with feeling. Students gain confidence and artistry as they explore choreography that encourages both discipline and imagination.

Isadora Duncan Dance

In Isadora Duncan Dance, students learn Duncan’s choreography, technique, and history while developing their own artistry, choreography, and ability to speak about dance. Students learn and perform Isadora Duncan’s choreography, teach audiences about the history of the work and their own lineage within the Duncan legacy, and develop their own artistry and voice through dance. Performances feature historic modern dance as well as contemporary choreography, and choreography created by dancers.

Hip Hop

Get down to Hip Hop classics and music filled with positive messages. In Hip-Hop 1, dancers will learn Hip Hop grooves, the fundamentals of Hip Hop, and build their freestyle skills! Students gain confidence in their own personal style while learning an introduction to Hip Hop!

Jazz Dance

From box steps to Jazz walks and kick-ball-changes, learn the essentials every director will expect you to know and perform them with confidence!

Learn tap combinations from Broadway shows and increase your tap skills while doing it! This is the perfect class for anyone who loves to mix rhythm and style on the dance floor. Channel your inner Fred and Ginger!

Theater

This program is built upon the principles of PLAY, ENSEMBLE, and EMPATHY. Classes empower students to speak with full voices, stand confidently in front of others, and lead with a playful imagination, while also working within a collaborative ensemble. Acting classes explore ensemble building, spatial awareness, character development, and voice control.

Disney’s Moana KIDS! (Ms. Mackenzie & Ms. Elyssa)

Set sail on an unforgettable adventure across the great, wide ocean! Students will sing, dance, and act their way through the vibrant world of Disney’s Moana KIDS, building confidence and teamwork along the way. Must be enrolled in another performing arts class at Seaside to participate.

1st Grade & Up

Tiny Stars Musical Theater (EC 1/2)

For students ages 6-9, who love singing, acting, and dancing, and want to learn more about the theater while expanding their skills. Class will take inspiration from some of the greatest children’s musicals.

Singing & Rhythm 1 (Ms. Wen)

Students will discover their voices and the joy of making music together! Students explore vocalization and rhythm through fun warm-ups, instruments, and teamwork—building confidence, listening skills, and musicianship along the way.

Singing 2 (Ms. Mackenzie)

Students will discover their unique voices and the joy of singing in harmony in this fun, energetic ensemble class. Through vocal warm-ups, rhythm games, and teamwork, they’ll build confidence, listening skills, and strong musicianship. Inspire your new friends and be inspired in turn!

Private Voice Lessons (Ms. Mackenzie)

Voice lessons are tailored to your child’s skill level. Students will work on technique, including diction, breath, pitch, and tone, through engaging repertoire and technical exercises.

Private Piano Lessons (Ms. Mackenzie)

Whether your child is a beginner or is improving their piano skills, we will use the Faber method to learn music reading, proper technique, and play various genres. Piano lessons build a strong musical foundation for advancing in piano or learning another instrument.

Visual Arts

Seaside Arts Center’s Visual Arts program provides a space for students to explore, develop, and express their ideas while learning various media, styles, and techniques. Classes feature paint, sculpture, textile weaving, assemblage, mixed media, (and more!), as they learn to express themselves and their own ideas through art and find inspiration from artists throughout history and the world. They’ll use their imaginations and create one-of-a-kind art works as they learn about color, shape, and more.

Little Artists (EC2)

Explore, create, and imagine! Young artists experiment with a wide range of materials– painting, sculpture, weaving, and mixed media–while developing fine motor skills, creativity, and confidence.

Scuplture & 3D Art (Ms. Stacie)

Bring your imagination to life through hands-on 3-D art! Students will explore shape, texture, and form while experimenting with materials like clay, wire, and paper to create expressive sculptures. Along the way, they’ll build creativity, spatial awareness, and problem-solving skills.

Ages 6-12

Sewing (Ms. Wen)

Students will discover their own artistic abilities by learning one of the oldest art forms in the world. They’ll explore different techniques of hand sewing and will have the opportunity to work with different textiles while learning to create and mend clothing. They’ll also explore fiber art through embroidery, and create a variety of projects utilizing skills gained in class.

Early Childhood (EC) visual and performing arts classes encourage young children to express themselves in new ways, to understand and appreciate a variety of forms of art, and to develop their gross and fine motor skills through fun, structured activities.
