At Seaside, we believe the arts are for everyone. We offer subsidized programs to serve youth from all backgrounds, because diversity strengthens us.
SEASIDE RESULTS
We’ve served over 1,500 students in San Diego since our inception.
After receiving arts instruction at Seaside, our students attest:

OUR MISSION IS SUPPORTED BY DATA
In 2009, researchers at the Dana Foundation, which funds neuroscience research and programming, posited based on multiple studies that training in the arts stimulates and strengthens the brain’s attention system.
An analysis from the National Endowment for the Arts, drawing on data from four longitudinal studies, found that students with high levels of arts involvement had more positive outcomes in a variety of areas, from high school graduation rates to civic participation.
Journal of Primary Prevention found that students in low-income schools who participated in an after-school dance program tended to experience heightened self-esteem and social skills.
