Anna Fitzgerald Returns to Seaside for a Special Master Class on October 5!
Anna Marjorie Fitzgerald is a theater artist based in Southern California who graduated from Harvard University in 2020 with a degree in English and is about to begin her third and final year at the UC Irvine MFA in Acting program. Fitzgerald is not only a captivating performer but is also an accomplished writer, director, and choreographer in the theater.
Fitzgerald co-founded ISLE Theater Company after graduating from Harvard with a mission to bridge communities through storytelling. There, she co-produced, co-directed, acted in, and wrote several site-specific shows to crowds of thousands in beautiful Downeast Maine. Since beginning her training at the Claire Trevor School of the Arts, Fitzgerald has not only performed in several Mainstage productions (ROMEO AND JULIET, CABARET, THE BALD SOPRANO), she has also written and performed a one-woman show based on Tennessee Williams’s THE GLASS MENAGERIE, entitled “My Glass Menagerie,” which expertly combined movement, poetry, and text to share a fresh perspective on Williams’s classic.
Fitzgerald is deeply invested in community-building within theater—not only between the artists and the audience, but between the artists themselves. During CABARET, Fitzgerald served as the ‘Actor Deputy,’ which means she was the intermediary between the Creative Team and the Cast. When conflicts emerged, Fitzgerald deftly and gracefully mediated in order to allow for the process to continue smoothly. Fitzgerald also served on the season selection committee in 2023-2024 and helped communicate with her cohort and peers to ultimately help create a season in which all had equitable opportunity.
Looking ahead, Fitzgerald will play “Olivia” in Shakespeare’s TWELFTH NIGHT at the New Swan Shakespeare Festival this summer, and is developing a full-length play to be directed by Juliette Carrillo and produced by the Claire Trevor School of the Arts as part of their 2024-2025 MainStage season.
