Grant Research & Writing Contractor (Posted 4.16.25) 

Part-Time (20–25 Hours/Month)
Remote / Flexible Schedule

Position Overview:
Seaside Arts Center is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Grant Research & Writing Contractor to support our development efforts by identifying grant opportunities and writing compelling grant proposals. This contractor will work closely with the Executive Director and Administration team to secure funding that supports our programs, performances, and outreach efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Research local, state, and national grant opportunities relevant to Seaside’s mission and programming.
  • Maintain an active grant calendar and track deadlines, submissions, and outcomes.
  • Write, edit, and submit grant applications, letters of inquiry, and supporting materials. 
  • Coordinate with staff to gather necessary data, stories, and financials for proposals.
  • Assist in reporting requirements and ongoing grant management, as needed.
  • Provide twice monthly updates summarizing work completed and grants in progress.

Qualifications:

  • Proven success in grant writing, preferably in the nonprofit arts or education sector.
  • Strong understanding of funding cycles and philanthropic trends.
  • Excellent written communication and storytelling skills.
  • Experience with budgeting and crafting compelling narratives that align with funders’ goals.
  • Highly organized, deadline-driven, and able to work independently.
  • Familiarity with grant databases and research tools is a plus.

Contract Details:

  • Estimated 20–25 hours per month 
  • Remote, flexible work schedule
  • Requires regular meetings (in person or online) to provide management with updates
  • Initial contract duration: 6 months, with potential to renew
  • Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience
